Dana Cohen, LCSW

She/Her

At the age of 14, I knew I wanted to be a therapist. I saw first hand how destructive eating disorders are and diet cultures role in our society.

This interest and personal experience led me to study social work and eventually a full time job in therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the greater Chicago Area , I am committed to educate teens and adults  on how to love and accept their bodies and themselves. I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them find the answers they seek.

Since 2009, I have worked with a variety of patients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives. I specialize in the treatment of women and teens struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, depression and anxiety.  I incorporate HAES principles in all aspects of my practice by following an intuitive eating approach and actively reject the diet culture and mainstream view that weight is the primary measure of health, and work to actively fight fat-phobia and weight and size based stigma and discrimination. I believe in helping people heal their relationship with food to become one that involves eating for satisfaction and pleasure.
